a fleck on my porcelain skin

"Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...

There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save

I'm not sorry there's nothing to save... "

But days like today make me wonder how I'll ever live through this.

don't stop moving

confess your heart

scrub the carpet   feel the warmth

gain new perspectives   drink some wine   hug your cousin

flirt with someone   leave the dishes   pretend you're fine   don't call back

stay up late   play loud music   protect your heart   text text text   avoid your family

sit really still   don't ask questions   pose for photos  feel young again   lose your faith

don't stay home   have no guilt   chat all day   make a mistake  tell your story

kiss your baby   buy something expensive   take long baths   do something reckless

keep a secret   build your confidence   try to focus   dance really hard

walk home tipsy   teach a class   fill the void   lose your appetite

create new rituals  seek new loves   go home early

find new joys   isolate ignore hide

don't look back   rebuild your life

Overwhelmed by the pressure

to heal on other people's timetables. Overwhelmed
by feeling like I'm constantly

on a path to healing from the latest catastrophe. Hit by the next
wave before I've had time to
get my bearings and
stand up again.
Starting to believe that life is really like this. One long horrible chain of events stung together on a thread of lies.

Starting
to believe that it really doesn't matter how you live your life

because when it comes down to it
you have no choice but to move
with the ebb and flow of the decisions that are being made around you.
